Membership

MEMBERSHIP:  

There are five types of members

General member: The central committee of KYC may provide general membership to any Limbu individuals who abide by the objectives defined in the Constitution of KYC. The admission free is Rs.10 with Rs. 30 for annual membership charge.

Life member: The central committee of KYC may grant Life Membership to any Limbu individuals who abide by the objectives of KYC. The life member fee is Rs. 1,001.

Functions, duties and Rights of General Members and Life Members shall be as follows;

  • Right to participate in KYC general assemblies at different levels and to achieve leadership position abiding by the process of leadership selection.

  • Right to offer feed backs, suggestions and critiques to the concerned committees of KYC

  • Pay the Membership and renew fees as "prescribed" in the Regulation.


Patron member: For the safety of KYC, the central committee may award Patron Memberships to any Limbu individuals who abide by the objectives of KYC. The Patron membership fee is Rs. 5,001.

 

Distinguished patron member: For the safety and financial benefits of KYC, the central committee may ward distinguished Patron Memberships to any Limbu individuals who abide by the objectives of KYC. The Distinguished Patron Membership fee is Rs. 25,001.

 

Functions, duties and Rights of Patron Members and Distinguished Patron Members shall be as follows;

  • Right to patronize KYC in critical situation that calls for immediate actions for rescue to revive the KYC into normal stage.


Honorary member: Honorary member can be given to non-Limbu persons who have made contributions to promote Limbu culture, language, script and religion. There are five honorary members of the organization. They are: Dr. Byod Michailovsky (USA),  Dr. George Van Driem (The Netherlands), Pro. R.K. Sprigg (UK), Prof. Shiva Kumar Shrestha (Nepal) and Late A. Widart (Germany)
